It's the changing of the papal guard at Castelgandolfo at the precise time Pope Benedict's 'resignation' took effect on Thursday evening - the Swiss Guard, which protects only the reigning pontiff, stands down and is replaced by the Vatican Gendarmerie. A poignant moment.
